How to order your free book

With your Puffin Post subscription you are entitled to claim a free book with each issue. The full selection of free books to choose from is advertised on the website and featured in the magazine. Books are chosen to appeal to a wide range of ages and tastes, but they always include a mixture of popular titles, classics, books by new authors and established series. We provide information on each title along with a suggested age range based on advice received from the publisher; for more information on age guidance please see the age range help page.

To order your free book, you will need to be logged in to Puffin Island; you can then visit the free books page and make your choice of title. You will be asked to confirm your name and address and then submit your free book request. You will then receive a confirmation email. Once we receive your order, your free book should take between five and seven working days to arrive on your doorstep. Unfortunately the free books you receive are not able to be returned or exchanged unless you have received a damaged or faulty copy, in which case please see our returns help page. You can also order your free book by phone on 0845 606 4261 or by sending the postcard in your magazine to Puffin Post's freepost address.

Lost or damaged magazines and membership packs

If your magazine, membership pack or free book does not arrive within seven days of its due date please contact customer services on 0845 606 4261 who will check to make sure your order has been despatched and arrange a replacement if necessary.

If your magazine, membership pack or free book arrives damaged or faulty then you should call us on 0845 606 4261 for authorisation to return, and we will send out a pre-paid returns label or arrange collection. Where a replacement is required for a damaged book, we despatch new books straightaway, rather than waiting to receive the damaged goods.

Returning a damaged or faulty free book

Puffin Post endeavours to send you perfectly presented books. However, if the books are damaged or faulty then you should call us on 0845 606 4261 for authorisation to return, and we will send out a pre-paid returns label or arrange collection. Where a replacement book is required for a damaged book, we despatch new books straight away, rather than waiting to receive the damaged goods.

Buying books

The Puffin Post website does not sell books, but you can buy all the books featured in our magazines from our friends at Puffin Book Club. Please visit their website to see what books they have on offer and to read about setting up an account and buying books from them.
